SERVICE MAGAZINE, SEPTEMBER 3, 1984, PAGE 6. Put a mark through the article "Specifications And Rack Adjustment For Variable Horsepower Fuel Systems." Make reference to the article "Specifications And Revised Rack Adjustment Procedure For Variable Horsepower Fuel Systems" in this issue.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

The rack setting specifications and procedures are now available for the above machines and engines. The chart gives the "OT" number that will give the correct rack setting specifications.

Rack Adjustment For Engines With The New Scroll Fuel System (NSFS)

1. Remove the variable horsepower actuator from the rear of the governor housing.

2. Adjust the high horsepower setting using the standard fuel system setting procedure in the service manual.

3. Install the variable horsepower actuator.

4. Remove the dust cover from the variable horsepower actuator.

5. Move the governor control to the high idle position.

6. Loosen the jam nut. Tighten the washered adjusting nut to put the actuator rod in the FULLY RETRACTED position.

7. To adjust the low horsepower setting, turn the washered adjusting nut counterclockwise to extend the actuator rod. Extend the actuator rod until the rack reading decreases to the specified low horsepower setting.

8. Tighten the jam nut to lock the washer adjusting nut. Install the dust cover.

Rack Adjustment For Engines With Sleeve Metering Fuel System (SMFS)

1. Remove the air fuel ratio control from the rear of the governor housing.

2. Use the procedure in the service manual and adjust the high horsepower setting.

3. Install the air fuel ratio control.

4. Remove the rear covers from the air fuel ratio control to expose the adjusting pin.

5. Move the governor control to the high idle position.

6. Turn the adjustment pin clockwise to adjust the air fuel ratio control rod to the FULLY EXTENDED position.

7. To adjust the low horsepower setting, turn the adjustment pin counterclockwise to retract the air fuel ratio control rod. Retract the rod until the rack reading is decreased to the specified setting.

8. Replace the covers on the air fuel ratio control.
