Teflon sealant is now used on the threads of the element assemblies in 5N5739 or 5N5740 Electric Water Heaters. This Teflon sealant will make removal of the element assemblies easier. Formerly, because of corrosion in the threads, it was difficult to remove the element assemblies.
Whenever an element assembly is installed, put 5P3413 Pipe Sealant (with Teflon) on the threads of the element assembly.
