New Heat Shields Are Used on Certain C175 Locomotive Engines {1067}

Usage:

C175-16 3A9
Locomotive Engine
C175-16 (S/N: 3A91-UP; Y3A1-UP; KWT1-UP)

Description Of Change: The new heat shields were designed to allow a minimum clearance of 8 mm (0.315 inch) around engine components.

The new heat shields allow the exhaust manifold clamps to rotate 20 degrees.

The new heat shields allow the turbocharger turbine inlet thermocouples to be oriented and serviced without removing the heat shields.

Adaptable To: The new heat shields replace the former heat shields.

The new heat shields are adaptable to the above engines back to first production.

Note: The new heat shields are not compatible with the former heat shields.

The new heat shields and the former heat shields are listed in Table 1.
