Crankshaft Front Gear - Remove and Install

Start By:
- Remove the crankshaft front seal.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to crankshaft front gear (1). The weight of crankshaft front gear (1) is approximately
34 kg (75 lb) . Slide crankshaft front gear (1) onto Tooling (A). Remove crankshaft front gear (1). - Remove the O-ring seals from each side of crankshaft front gear (1). Discard the O-ring seals.

- Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.
- Lubricate the bores of the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Install the O-ring seals in crankshaft front gear (1). Apply Tooling (B) to the bore of the crankshaft front gear. Attach a suitable lifting device to crankshaft front gear (1). The weight of crankshaft front gear (1) is approximately
34 kg (75 lb) .Note: If holes (2) in the crankshaft will not align with the holes in the crankshaft front gear, the wrong side of the crankshaft front gear is toward the crankshaft.
- Align holes (2) in the crankshaft with the holes in the crankshaft front gear. Install crankshaft front gear (1) on Tooling (A).
- Slide crankshaft front gear (1) against the crankshaft.
