如果活塞高于缸体的高度不在技术规格, "活塞和活塞环"中给出的公差范围内，则必须检查活塞销轴承。 请参考系统操作、测试和调整, "连杆 - 检查"。 如果更换或重新机加工过以下任一部件，则必须测量活塞高于缸体的高度：
- 曲轴
- 缸盖
- 连杆
- 活塞销轴承
必须保持适当的活塞高度才能确保发动机符合排放标准的要求。
注: 活塞顶部不应进行机加工。 如果安装的是原来的活塞，确保将原来的活塞组装到正确的连杆上并安装到原来的气缸中。

- 使用工具 (A) 和工具 (B) 测量活塞高于缸体的高度。 使用缸体表面将工具 (A) 归零。
- 转动曲轴，直到活塞处于上止点附近。
- 定位工具 (B) 和工具 (A) ，以便测量活塞高于缸体的高度。 应在位置 (X) 或 (Y) 处测量活塞高度。 缓慢地转动曲轴，确定活塞处在最高位置的时刻。 记录该尺寸。 将该尺寸与技术规格, "活塞和活塞环"中给出的尺寸进行比较。
