Heat Exchanger - Assemble

Usage:

C18 NBB

Assembly Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

    Typical Example

  1. Install spring pin (7) into heat exchanger (6) .

  1. Position the gasket (not shown) and install core assembly (8) into heat exchanger (6) .

  1. Install both zinc rods (5) into bonnet (2) .

  1. Position the gasket (not shown) and install bonnet (2) onto the heat exchanger.

  1. Install bolts (1).

  1. Position elbow (4) and install bolts (3) .

  1. Position seal (11) into heat exchanger (6) .

  1. Four shims (12) are needed for each bolt (9). Position shims (12) and position bonnet (10) .

  1. Install bolts (9) .

  1. Install elbow (13) .

End By: Install the heat exchanger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Heat Exchanger - Install".
