Prelubrication Oil Pump - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the prelubrication oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Prelubrication Oil Pump - Remove".

Note: Use 8T-0447 Dial Calipers to measure the dimensions in the following procedure.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


    Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.

    Air Driven Prelube Pump

  1. Use a paint stick to mark the position of air driven motor (1) or the electric motor on prelubrication oil pump (2) .

    Note: The key in the motor shaft and the input shaft of the prelubrication oil pump may cause resistance during the separation.

  1. Remove the bolts that hold prelubrication oil pump (2) to air driven motor (1) or the electric motor. Remove air driven motor (1) or the electric motor from prelubrication oil pump (2) .

  1. Use a paint stick to mark the position of head (3) on housing (4). Remove head (3), gaskets, and shims. Save the shims.

  1. Remove idler (5). Inspect the bearing in the idler. The inside diameter of the bearing must be 19.126 mm (0.7530 inch).

  1. Remove rotor (6). Inspect the outside diameter and the inside diameter for wear. The outside diameter of the rotor must be 85.509 to 85.547 mm (3.3665 to 3.3680 inch).

  1. Remove lip seals (7) .

  1. Inspect all of the parts. Replace any of the parts that are worn or damaged.

  1. Ensure that the socket head screw is in place in the discharge port.
