Installation Procedure

Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.

1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (9). The weight of turbocharger (9) is approximately 400 kg (880 lb). Install turbocharger (9) and install bolts (10) that hold turbocharger (9) to the support. Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 475 ± 60 N·m (350 ± 44 lb ft).

2. Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (7). Place a new gasket between elbow (8) and the turbocharger. Connect elbow (8) to the turbocharger and install bolts (7) .

3. Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (6). Install the gasket between bellows (5) on the exhaust manifold and the turbocharger. Connect bellows (5) to the turbocharger and install bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft).

4. Install the gasket and connect oil drain tube assembly (4) .

5. Install the O-ring seal and install oil supply tube assembly (3) .

6. Install the gasket and connect tube assembly (2) .

7. Install tube assembly (1) .

8. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

9. Install the exhaust manifold shields.
