Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

(Y) 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (0.059 ± 0.010 inch) (X) 30 degrees

1. Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearings (18).

   Note: Be sure to install sleeve bearings (18) to a depth of Dimension (Y). The joints on sleeve bearings (18) must be installed to the angle of Dimension (X).

2. Install O-ring seal (17) and install gear assembly (16).

3. Install key (15).

5. Install body (13). Install shaft (11) and gear (12).

   (Y) 1.50 ± 0.50 mm (0.059 ± 0.020 inch) (X) 30 degrees

6. Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearings (10) to cover assembly (8).

   Note: Be sure to install sleeve bearings (10) to a depth of Dimension (Y). The joints on sleeve bearings (10) must be installed to the angle of Dimension (X).

7. Install O-ring seal (9) to cover assembly (8).

8. Position cover assembly (8) and install bolt (7).

9. Install O-ring seal (6) and O-ring seal (5) to manifold assembly (3).

10. Position manifold assembly (3) and install bolts (2). Install O-ring seal (4) and install O-ring seal (1).

End By:

1. Install the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Transmission Charging and Scavenge - Install".
