Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Caterpillar has recently experienced failures of the return fuel lines on C27 and C32 Generator Sets and C32 Power Module. The failures occurred when the units were operating at 90% to 100% load factor in an enclosed environment. The affected serial numbers are listed above.

Solution

Caterpillar recommends these power modules and enclosed units be operated at no more than 60% load until new fuel lines are installed. A service letter will be released by 27August 2007 in order to rework the return fuel lines.
