(1) Torque for the bolts for the valve cover base in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 2 ... 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft)
(2) Torque for the bolts for the valve mechanism cover in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 3 ... 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft)
(3) Cut the seal for the valve mechanism cover to the following length. ... 1765.3 ± 6.4 mm (69.50 ± 0.25 inch)
(4) Cut the seal for valve cover base to the following length. ... 1847.9 ± 6.4 mm (72.75 ± 0.25 inch)
(5) Coat both ends of the seals with 3S-6252 Sealant prior to installation.

Use the following procedure to install the adapter (6) :
- Lubricate the bore lightly with clean engine oil.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal (7) lightly with clean engine oil.
- Freeze the adapter to at least −18 °C (−0 °F).
- Install the adapter.
