Description of Change: New software for the Power Train and the Caterpillar Monitoring System is used. The software is available in the form of flash files through the Service Information System (SIS). Using the new software will allow calibrations of the power train to be performed by using the Caterpillar Electronic Technician. The new software eliminates the need for the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool through the Caterpillar Monitoring System.
Adaptable To:
New Flash Files     | ||
Model     | Power Train     | Caterpillar Monitoring System     |
826G Series II     | 224-6860     | 226-6524     |
825G Series II     | 224-6860     | 226-6517     |
824G Series II     | 224-6860     | 226-6511     |
Note: Both of the software files are required in order for transmission calibrations to function with the Caterpillar Electronic Technician.The new flash files were effective with 824G Series II (S/N: AWW366-UP) Wheel Dozers, 825G Series II (S/N: AXB430-UP) Soil Compactors and 826G Series II (S/N: AYH512-UP) Landfill Compactors. The new flash files are adaptable to first production of the machines that are listed.
Winflash should be used in order to load the software. Values that were previously calibrated are automatically remembered. It is not necessary to recalibrate the power train.
Note: Calibration procedures for the power train that are performed through the Caterpillar Monitoring System use a different mode with the new software. Calibration procedures will move from mode 6 to mode 8 and submode 81. The procedures for the configuration (submodes 15, 20, 21, 23 and 30) will remain in mode 6. Both flash software files are required for transmission calibrations to function in the new mode. The calibration mode for the power train will not function if only the flash file for the power train or the flash file for the CMS is updated.
