Turbocharger - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Position the turbocharger on a bench.

  1. Place alignment marks on compressor housing (1), turbocharger cartridge (4), and turbine housing (3) .

  1. Remove bolts (2) from compressor housing (1) .

  1. Remove compressor housing (1) from turbocharger cartridge (4) .

  1. Remove bolts (5) from turbine housing (3) .

  1. Remove turbine housing (3) from turbocharger cartridge (4) .


    NOTICE

    Do not attempt to disassemble the turbocharger cartridge assembly or wastegate. Do not remove the compressor wheel. The turbocharger cartridge assembly and the wastegate are not field serviced, and should be replaced only as a unit.


  1. Check the condition of all the components. Use new components to replace worn components or damaged components.
