Note: Some engines may be equipped with a preheater for the engine coolant.

Apply 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant to pipe plug (1), adapter (2), and plug (3) prior to assembly.

(1) Tighten the pipe plug to the following torque. ... 16 N·m (12 lb ft)

(2) Tighten the adapter to the following torque. ... 22 N·m (16 lb ft)

Apply 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant to the threads of adapter (4) prior to tightening into the cylinder block.

(4) Tighten the adapter to the following torque. ... 10 N·m (89 lb in)
