Bulldozer Control Valve - Disassemble

Start By:

  1. Remove the bulldozer control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bulldozer Control Valve - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

    Note: The disassembly of the two-stem bulldozer control valve are similar to the disassembly of the three-stem bulldozer control valves. Only the three-stem control valve is shown.

  1. Remove three nuts (2) and cover (1) .

  1. Separate valves (5), (3) and (6) from manifold (4). Remove O-ring seals (7). Remove shims (9) between each of the valves and manifold (4). Remove studs (8) .

  1. Do the following procedure to disassemble valve (3) and valve (5) :


      NOTICE

      Do not, at any time, mix the components etween the valve groups during the disassembly or the assembly.


    1. Remove plug (11), valve (10), spring (13) and springs (14) from body (12). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug.

    1. Remove bolts (15), retainer (17), guard (16) and filter (18) from body (12) .

    1. Remove two bolts (19) and housing (21) .

    1. Remove spool (20) from body (12) .

    1. Compress spring (22). Remove bolt (24) and spacer (23). Remove retainer (26), spring (22) and retainer (25) from spool (20) .

    1. Remove valve (27) from body (12). Remove the three O-ring seals from the valve.

    1. Remove seat (28) and ball (29). Remove the O-ring seal from the seat.

    1. If necessary, remove the seal from each end of body (12) .

  1. Do the following procedure to disassemble valve (6) :

    1. Remove plug (31), valve (30), spring (34) and spring (35) from body (32). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug.

    1. Remove plug (37), spring (36) and valve (35) from body (38). Remove the O-ring seals and the backup ring from the plug.

    1. Remove body (38). Remove the O-ring seals and the backup ring from the body.

    1. Remove two bolts (41), retainer (39), guard (42) and filter (40) .

    1. Hold retainer (45) in position with a press and Tool (A). Remove snap ring (43) with Tool (B) .

    1. Remove retainer (45) and spring (44) from housing (46) .

    1. Remove piston (49) and eight balls (47) from housing (46). Remove the washer from housing (46) .

    1. Remove three bolts (48) and housing (46). Remove the O-ring seal from the housing.

    1. Remove O-ring seals (52) and (53) from the piston. Remove seals (50) and (51) from the piston.

    1. Remove spool (54) from body (32) .

    1. Compress spring (60). Remove shaft (58) and coupling (57) from spool (54) .

    1. Remove retainer (56), spring (60), spacer (55) and retainer (59) .

    1. Remove valve (62) from body (32). Remove the O-ring seals from the valve.

    1. Remove seat (61) and ball (63). Remove the O-ring seals from the seat.

    1. If necessary, remove the seals from each end of body (32) .
