PROBLEM
The existing left hand sliding glass can fall out on certain 950 GC Wheel Loaders. If the existing sliding glass fails it can/will be difficult to open and close window. |

1. Safety Follow Special Instruction, SENR7733, "Safety General Service and Repair Safety Information" before proceeding with the rework procedure. |
2. Repair Steps Image1.2.1: View of right side sliding window frame from outside of the machine. (1) Sliding glass (2) Rail (3) Existing 394-5936 Slider to be removed (4) Bottom rail of window frame 2.1 Pull slider (3) out of window rail (2) toward the rear of the frame. Use a pinching tool to break up existing slider (3), then remove sliding glass(1) and rail(2). Image1.2.2: View of the right side sliding window frame from inside the machine. (1) Sliding glass (2) Rail (3) Existing 394-5936 Slider to be removed (4) Bottom rail of window frame 2.2 Put the two new sliders 491-4994(Item 1) through the relief of rail as shown in Image1.2.3. Make sure two new sliders 491-4994(Item 1) side A toward inside of cab (Refer to Image1.2.4). 2.3 Install new glass and rail (491-4995 item 1 and 2) on window frame. Then bond glass and rail together. 2.3.1 Glass surfaces shall be wiped with an oil-free cloth or binder-free tissue saturated with a suitable glass cleaner. Immediately, wipe with a clean, dry cloth or tissue. Allow to dry completely (approximately 5 minutes). 2.3.2 Rail painted metal surfaces shall be wiped with a dry cloth. Apply a uniform wet film of 0.08 mm - 0.13 mm of paint primer (Sika-Primer 206 G&P) to the area to be bonded. Allow primer (Sika-Primer 206 G&P) to dry for a minimum of 15 minutes, but no more than 2 hours. 2.3.3 Apply a bead 3 mm high by 5 mm wide of Sika Tack-Ultrafast to the area of rail to be bonded 2.3.4 Center the glass into the opening and lay the lower edge into place until contact of the sealant is made. Immediately upon contact lay the glass into full contact with the sealant. (Refer to Image1.2.5). 2.3.5 Use light pressure to ensure sealant contact is made around the entire perimeter of the installation. Hand pressur is usually sufficient. Make sure the relative position between glass and rail should match with 491-4995. The thickness of adhesive material is 1mm, and the distance between front end of glass and rail is 9mm. (refer to Image1.2.6). 2.3.6 Remove excess squeeze out and ensure a continuous bond has been obtained. 2.4 Insert two new sliders (491-4994 item 1) into new rail (491-4995 item 2) . And use self-tapping screw (491-4994 item 2) to fasten new rail and new slider together. (Refer to Image1.2.7 and Image1.2.8) 2.5 Close the window tightly. Do not open the window for at least 12 hours so the adhesive can cure. |
