Remove engine damper.
Image1.2.1
Inspect damper for damage. Look for leaks, worn welds, worn corners, or dents. If desired, use ultrasonic measuring equipment to determine the thickness of the damper case. The cover is approximately 6 mm thick when new. The cover should be at least 5 mm thick to reuse. The case is approximately 4 mm thick when new and should be at least 3.5 mm thick to reuse.
Image1.3.1
Clean front engine mounting area. Use 489-8202 Template to mark four holes to be drilled and tapped. The large hole in template should be roughly concentric with hole in front engine mount.
Image1.4.1
Drill holes using a 8.5mm or 21/64 inch bit. Thread using a M10-1.5 tap. Note: The reversing fan line P-clips may need to be loosened and the hose pulled aside for clearance to position drill.
Image1.5.1
Reinstall damper and install 489-8200 Damper guard using four 8T-4121 Washers and four 8T-4195 Bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 +/- 10 Nm. Check for proper clearance around the damper and the guard.
