NOTE: | This Containment Program can be administered either before or after a failure occurs. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim. |
NOTE: | When reporting the repair, use "PS90552" as the Part Number and "7777" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as Warranty Claim Description and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing 348-5005 Engine Air Filter, in very dusty environment, can fail on certain D6K2 T3 Track-Type Tractors. To prevent it from failing, the installation of the precleaner is required. |

1. Remove 348-5005 Air Cleaner. Refer to Image 1.1.1. |

2. Remove Dust Ejector lines. Refer to Image 1.2.1. These components won't be reassembled. This is not needed to plug the pipe tube that was connected to the ejector line. Refer to Image 1.2.2. |

3. Remove the Hood Assembly. Refer to Image 1.3.1. |

4. Weld a 4mm thickness plate inside the hood, between the 2 channels, flush with the right channel. Refer to Image 1.4.1. Locate this plate per the dimensions shown in Image 1.4.2. The dimension of this plate is 200 x 192 mm. Please note that the 192mm dimension needs to be adjusted with the 2 channels, as they are not parallels. Refer to Image 1.4.2. |

5. Drill a 102mm vertical hole on the hood following the dimensions shown in Image 1.5.1. This hole needs to go through the hood top surface and the additional plate welded at the step before. |

6. Fabricate a 101 mm external diameter tube per dimensions shown in Image 1.6.1. The tube thickness must be 3mm at least. |

7. Weld the tube on the hood and on the new welded plate. Paint the hood when complete in order to avoid rust. Refer to Image 1.7.1. |

8. Re-assemble the Hood Assembly on the machine. Install 153-1276 Screen Kit and 070-0195 Precleaner Turbine on the top of the hood. Install the 348-2502 Air Cleaner (replacing the 348-5005 one) with the 348-5021 Seal to prevent air entry between the cleaner and the new welded tube. Install the 3E-2331 Plug on the Air Cleaner. Refer to Image 1.8.1. |
