Assembly Procedure

1. Press shaft assembly (7) into housing (5). The shoulder of the shaft assembly must be flush with the face of the housing.

2. Install seal assembly (8) in housing (5) with Tooling (C).

3. Use Tooling (A) and a press to install impeller (6) on the shaft assembly. The Distance (X) between the impeller and the machined surface of the housing is 0.75 ± 0.25 mm (0.030 ± 0.010 inch).

   Note: Support the shaft assembly during installation of the impeller. Do not support the water pump by the housing.

4. Use Tooling (A) to press pulley (3) on the shaft assembly. The Distance (Y) between the first groove of the pulley to the machined face of the housing is 103.0 ± 0.3 mm (4.1 ± 0.01 inch).

5. Install gasket (4) on housing (5). Position cover (1) and install bolts and washers (2).

1. Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install".
