Description of Change: A thicker retainer is now used to hold the output gear on the shaft of torque converters on the above models. The new retainer, which is also larger in diameter than the former retainer, will not bend as easily and let the retainer bolt loosen.
Adaptable As: The new 7G5220 Retainer is a direct replacement for the 1T537 Retainer in this application. The 7G5220 Retainer is not a replacement for 1T537 Retainer used on the input end of the shaft.
INSTALLATION: Be sure to install the new retainer with the counterbore away from the gear.
