Usage:
950 Loaders
Description of Change: Longer self-locking bolts are used to hold the parking brake group to the bearing retainer on 950 Loaders. The new bolts are tightened to a torque of 185 ± 15 lb ft (254 ± 20 N·m). The longer self-locking bolts and the new torque used to tighten them will keep the bolts tight.
The four holes for the bolts used to hold the brake group to the bearing retainer have been made deeper. The depth of the threads in each hole is now 1.75" (44.50 mm). Formerly the threads were 1.12" (28.45 mm) deep.
Modification to four holes in bearing retainer.
Location of parts in transmission group.
Adaptable To: The four new 5P2797 Self-Locking Bolts are a direct replacement for the four former 9S8889 Bolts or the 5P9465 Bolts when used in a bearing retainer that has threads which are 1.75" (44.50 mm) deep.
The part numbers of the 1P320 Bearing Retainer used in the 1P5258 Transmission Group and the 1P5253 Bearing Retainer used in the 1P5257 Transmission Group did not change when the holes were made deeper.
If desired, a modification can be made to earlier bearing retainers to increase the depth of the holes and the length of the threads (see the Illustrations).
