Separate Scraper Batteries And Electronic Transmission Controls Now Used{1400,3168}

Usage:

627B, 627B (PP) Tractor-Scrapers

Description of Change: The tractor and scraper electrical systems and other components of 627B and 627B (PP) Tractor-Scrapers are changed to use separate batteries on the scrapers, and electronic controls for the transmission. Both of these improvements will be put in effect at the same time.

With separate batteries for the scraper, the long battery cables from the tractor, over the gooseneck to the scraper engine are no longer needed. This will improve the electrical circuit for the starter on the scraper engine, and make it easier to start the engine.

The electronic controls for the transmission use a lower voltage and lower current flow in the control circuits. This lowers the electrical loads on circuit components for longer service life.

Adaptable To: Because of the large number of parts and high cost, conversion of earlier machines is not practical.
