- G3406 (S/N: 4FD; 1RK)
Use the Installation Procedure that follows when you install the spark plugs and the ignition transformers on G3406 Engines that are equipped with a 107-2395 Gas Engine Ignition or a 183-2451 Gas Engine Ignition .
Note: The 107-2395 Gas Engine Ignition is used with engines that are equipped with the Altronic III ignition system. The 183-2451 Gas Engine Ignition is used with engines that are equipped with a Catapillar Digital Ignition System (CDIS).

- Be sure that all of the threads are clean and free of foreign material.
- Set the spark plug gap to 0.38 mm (0.015 inch).
- Install a new plug gasket (4) on the bottom of the spark plug. Install a new gasket (2) on the top of the spark plug.
- Install the spark plug with the new gaskets. Tighten the spark plug to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).
- Install the transformer (1) on the spark plug. Finger tighten the transformer. Then, tighten the transformer for an additional 1/8 of a turn. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE TRANSFORMER.
