The Lower Information Display Banner also provides a location for displaying warning messages containing Diagnostic Event Fault Codes.

Both the Diagnostics list page and its accompanying Details page can be accessed by pressing the Warning Pop-Up Fault Message Banner (18).

If a machine Diagnostic Event occurs, a warning alert or a machine service fault message will appear in the Warning Pop-Up Message Banner.

Pressing the Warning Pop-Up Fault Message Banner will put the Diagnostic Event into the snooze mode (6). The snooze mode is shown when the Warning Pop-Up Fault Message Banner has been reduced in size to an Alert Reminder Symbol (6). The snooze mode prevents a Level 1 (Gray) Message banner or a Level 2 (Yellow) Message banner from constantly reappearing on the Display.

Note: The Level 3 Warning (Red banner) message will remain active and cannot be placed in the snooze mode or be reduced to an Alert Reminder Symbol. This message is considered urgent. The operator is advised to take immediate action.

If a Diagnostic Event is active and is in the snooze mode, an Alert Reminder Symbol (6) will appear in the bottom right corner of the Warning Pop-Up Message Banner. Pressing this icon will navigate the operator to the Diagnostics list page.

Performance Pages

Performance Pages are the main introductory pages on the machine’s Information Display. Displayed within the Performance Pages and their subpages are real time machine status information and current machine settings.

The Information Display’s Performance Pages provide the operator with specific data concerning engine operation.

There are three (3) Performance Pages on the Information Display. Performance Page 1 is the default page. Performance Page 1, which is also considered the Home page, can be accessed by pressing the HOME hotkey button. The initial powering up the display screen shows Performance Page 1. Pressing the UP or DOWN arrows on the Interactive Scroll bar (21) allows the operator to view either Performance Page 1 or Performance Page 2.

Note: For more information on the HOME hotkey button, refer to the following section in this manual:

  • Menu Navigation buttons

Note: If the Rear View Camera is installed, the Rear Camera screen will appear after the Cat® Display Information Screen and before Performance Page 1.

Categories for Navigation buttons are top level navigation buttons. These buttons appear once the Information Display is activated and are located on the right side of the Information Display. These buttons are essentially common between all machines.

DISPLAY button - The Display button is used to access and adjust the display’s Day/Night Mode settings, adjust the brightness of the display, select a preferred language, select preferred units, and for the operator to read the Software License.

MACHINE button - The Machine button is used to access the machine’s parameters and to adjust the machine’s settings and features.

TOTALS button - The Totals button is used to view the machine’s totals as well as reset the machine’s totals.

SERVICE button - The Service button is used to access the Service Menus. The Service menus include the ECM Summary, and the machine’s Diagnostics, Configurations, Calibrations, and Service Tests.

OPERATOR button - The Operator button allows the operator to numerically enter a personalized and specific identification (ID) number.

There are five hotkey buttons that act as the principle navigation throughout the Information Display. These five hotkey buttons are located on the right side of the screen.

At the top level, the right-side buttons (DISPLAY, MACHINE, TOTALS, SERVICE, and OPERATOR) represent the Categories for Navigation hotkey buttons. When the operator presses any of these buttons, a Level 1 subpage will appear with a list of menu buttons. In the sub-menus, the right side buttons will change to Menu Navigation buttons. The five Menu Navigation buttons are:

  • UP Arrow button

  • OK button

  • DOWN Arrow button

  • BACK button

  • HOME button

When the operator selects an option from one of the Top Level Navigation buttons, the buttons on the right hand side of the Display convert to Menu Navigation buttons. Pressing the Navigation Buttons allows the operator to highlight, select or navigate through the display pages.

UP - The UP Arrow Navigation button navigates through the lists and menus in the upward direction.

DOWN - The DOWN Arrow Navigation button navigates through the lists and menus in the downward direction.

OK - The OK button selects a highlighted item and confirms an action.

BACK - The BACK button navigates to the previous page and cancels an action.

HOME - The HOME button navigates to the default screen from anywhere within the Display.

When directly touching a single button in the group, the button will turn blue in color. Then, the button will turn yellow to indicate that it is active. The accompanying menu screen will appear.

Scroll Bar/Menu Sliding Indicator

The scroll bar is used to navigate between the Performance Pages. There are two types of scroll bars:

  • Interactive

  • Non-Interactive

Interactive Scroll Bar

The interactive scroll bar distinguishes itself from the non-interactive scroll bar by using an image to show the button characteristic in the Cat® Yellow color.

The interactive scroll bar sliding indicator is also visually wider and has an expanded (non-visible) activation zone to reduce activation error.

The scroll bar sliding indicator brings the next page into view by a touch of the yellow UP or DOWN arrow buttons on the scroll bar itself.
