Power Module Switchgear (Low Voltage and Medium Voltage) Caterpillar

General Maintenance Information

Usage:

PM3508 BLM

------ DANGER! ------

High voltage may be present. The power source must be disconnected before working on the equipment. Failure to disconnect the power source could result in injury or death. Verify that the equipment is not energized before performing any maintenance. This work must be performed by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause personal injury or death.

------ WARNING! ------

An accumulation of dust or foreign material can cause a fire. Serious personal injury and damage to the equipment can occur. Clean the equipment by using a brush, vacuum cleaner or clean cloth that does not leave lint.

----------------------

Disconnect all power sources before you work on the equipment.

Remove all loads and shut down the generator set before you work on the equipment.

Disconnect the generator circuit breaker from the generator bus by racking out the generator circuit breaker. See OMM, "Generator Circuit Breaker".

Disconnect the transformer for power distribution and the potential transformers and fuses for the utility bus from the utility bus. This is accomplished by performing a racking out of the drawout primary fuses for the distribution transformer. The drawout fuses are located in the front of the lower right cabinet.

See OMM, "Switchgear - Check" for further maintenance information.
