(1) Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the four bolts before assembly.
(2) Both sides of flywheel housing gasket and rear face of the block must be free of oil, fuel, water, gasket adhesive and any other contaminants during assembly. The cylinder gasket for the flywheel housing must be free of contaminants during assembly.

(3) The pipe plug must not protrude above the surface after assembly.
(4) Apply a continuous bead of 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant immediately prior to assembling the flywheel housing. After assembly of the flywheel housing, remove any excess sealant from the flange with a straight edge.

(6) Apply 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant to the T-shaped joints immediately prior to the installation of the gasket for the pan. The application of the sealant should cover the entire width of the T-shaped joints, as shown.
Bolt Tightening Sequence
- In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 8.
Torque ... 135 ± 14 N·m (100 ± 10 lb ft)

Note: After assembly, trim the gasket to the surface of the flywheel housing.
- In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 9 through 20.
Torque ... 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft)
- In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 8.
Torque ... 135 ± 14 N·m (100 ± 10 lb ft)

Torque ... 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft)
