Power Take-Off Clutch

Note: Once the clutch has been installed onto the engine, hit the output shaft sharply on the end. This is done in order to relieve any preload.
Use the following procedure to adjust the bearing:
- Tighten the bearing retainer until there is no clearance between the cup and the cone.
- Loosen the bearing retainer. Loosen approximately three notches.
- Assemble the lock.
- Strike the output end of the shaft in order to seat the inner bearing cup against the bearing retainer.
- The end play (A) should be 0.15 to 0.25 mm (0.006 to 0.010 inch).
Note: A torque of 295 to 392 N·m (220 to 290 lb ft) on the splined clutch shaft is required in order to engage the clutch.
