Improper Installation Of The 204-4024 Bracket Creates Unsafe Condition

Problem:
Reports have been received of improper installation of the 204-4024 Bracket that is used to attach the Skid Steer Loader Backhoe to the host machine. The reports indicate that the bracket is being "clamped-on" rather than being installed on the host machine with the specified mounting hardware. Failure to utilize the bracket and the mounting hardware as engineered creates an unsafe condition that can cause serious injury or death, and/or damage to the machine and work tool.
Solution:
DO NOT use clamps or any devices other than the mounting hardware that is specified for securing the 204-4024 Bracket to the host machine.
To install the 204-4024 Bracket,
- * Drill four 16.5 mm (0.65 in.) diameter holes in the front plate of the machine to match the four mounting holes in the 204-4024 Bracket (1). See Figure 1.
- * Position bracket (1) by aligning the holes in bracket (1) with the holes drilled in the front plate of the machine.
- * Secure bracket (1) by using four 8T-4174 Bolts (2), eight 9X-8257 Washers (3), and four 176-5311 Locknuts (4) as shown in Figure 1.
- * Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 125 1 20 N·m (92 ± 15 ft.lbs.).
