This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS45449" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The existing blade control handle which contains the high speed travel switch can fail on certain 301.4C Mini Hydraulic Excavators. If the existing high speed travel switch fails, the machine will only travel in low speed.

Note: Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section".

Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.

Preparation of the Machine for Rework:

- Park the machine on firm level ground.

- Stop the engine and turn the start switch to the ?Off? position.

- Secure the machine from moving.

Removal of the Current Dover Blade Lever:

1. Open storage compartment (1) under the seat. Refer to Image1.2.1.

2. Remove 134-1374 Bolt (2). Refer to 451-1004 and 451-1006 Control Group. Refer to Image1.3.1.

3. Remove two 8T-4200 Bolts (3), two 8T-4137 Bolts (3), and two cable straps (4) on the right side of the seat console. Refer to Image1.4.1.

4. Remove cable strap (5) under the right side console. Refer to Image1.5.1.

5. Disconnect two speed switch harness at connector (S21.1). Refer to Image1.6.1.

6. Remove 8T-4137 Bolt (6) on the right side of the seat console. Refer to Image1.7.1.

7. Remove 523-0163 Dozer Blade Lever (7) but retain 381-2789 Bearings (8) for later reuse. Refer to Image1.8.1.

Assembly of the New Dozer Blade Lever:

1. Remove the label (9) from 451-1007 Control Assembly Blade Lever Handle (10). Refer to Image1.9.1.

2. Thread the harness from blade lever handle (10) through 451-1008 Blade Lever Assembly (11). Refer to Image1.10.1.

3. Mount lever handle (12) with screw (13) from the 451-1007 Control Assembly handle package on blade lever (11). Refer to Image1.11.1.

4. Insert the white wire into Pin 2 of the connector. Refer to Image1.12.1.

5. Insert the black wire into Pin 1 of the connector. Refer to Image1.13.1.

6. Insert green wedge (14) into the plug to secure the wires. Refer to Image1.13.1.

Installation of the Blade Lever:

1. Lubricate shaft (15) of the blade lever with silicone grease. Refer to Image1.14.1.

2. Assemble one slide bearing to the shaft of the blade lever. Refer to Image1.15.1.

3. Assemble second slide bearing (8) to the inside of the compartment. Refer to Image1.15.1.
