Disassembly Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Make an identification mark along the length of the housing on the gerotor motor. Mark the orientation of each section of the motor. This procedure must be done in order to ensure correct assembly of the motor.

  1. Remove seven bolts (1) that secure cover (2) to the motor. Remove the cover from the motor.

  1. Remove seal (3) from cover (2) .

  1. Remove commutator ring (4) .

  1. Remove commutator (5) and seal (6) .
