Navigation path: Performance Page -> Operator
Note: Passcode security / Operator ID is enabled with the External Authentication Device Installation Status setting. Passcode security / Operator ID can be toggled via Cat® Electronic Technician (ET).
The Operator Menu allows the operator to load Application Profiles, Change Operator ID (if enabled), or Manage Operator passcodes (if enabled). There are 2 types of machine operators:
- Basic: The Standard operator can log on to the machine and off the machine and change operators but cannot add or delete other operators.
- Master: The Master Operator can log, add, or delete Standard operators and other Master Operators.

The Operator ID of the current operator can be viewed in the Message Window.

The Operator Icon in the Message Window can be shown in 3 ways. Refer to Illustration 2.

If an Operator Identification number (pass code) has not been entered into the Information Display, the Operator ID numerical keypad will appear. The display will prompt the operator to enter their specific operator pass code.

If no operator is logged in, there is no current Operator ID (4) visible in the message window. The Operator Icon has been crossed out in the message window but not in the Navigation Path (3).
- Press the Change Operator button (1) to enter in an Operator ID passcode. For more information, refer to the following section in this manual:

The machine has a feature called the Machine Security System (MSS). When installed, MSS protects the machine from unauthorized operation. When keying the machine on, the operator will be prompted to enter their numeric passcode or to skip the login. This procedure is also found in the section of this manual:
- Machine Security System (MSS)
If the Machine Security System (MSS) is enabled but the operator is not detected, the Passcode Entry button (2) and the Skip Log In button (1) are displayed.
Note: If the operator uses a Bluetooth® signal, the keycode will automatically be recognized, as long as Bluetooth® has been installed.
For more information, refer to the following section in this manual:
- Machine Security System (MSS)
- Enter the intended passcode in the Passcode Numerical Keypad. Correct any mistyped numbers by pressing the Backspace button (5).
- Press the OK button (6) to enter the intended passcode.
- Press the Next button (7) to skip the log in procedure.

If the passcode entry is blocked, a message will appear notifying the operator as seen in illustration 6.

If an entry error is detected, the Numerical Keypad indicates an error. Three asterisks flash 3 times in the Passcode entry box (3), then disappear.

Note: If the MSS is not enabled and the operator is not detected, only the Skip Log In button (1) are displayed.
- To skip the login, press the Skip Log In button (1). The Passcode Entry keypad page will appear.

If an operator is logged in, the current Operator ID (2) is visible in the message window. The Operator Icon has not been crossed out in the message window. Operator appears in the Navigation Path (1). Since an operator is now logged in, the Log Out Operator button (5) is now visible.
- Press the Change Operator button (6) to enter in an Operator ID passcode.

The standard operator has access to the buttons listed above. A specific set of options are available to the standard operator, while master operators will have a different set of options available. The standard operator has the following options:
- Application Profiles: Viewing the profile of various project applications
- Change Operator: Changing from one operator to another
- Log Out Operator: Logging out of the current operator

A master operator will have access to the buttons listed above.
A Master Operator will have the following options:
- Application Profiles: Viewing the profile of various project applications

- Manage Operators: The Master Operator is able to add or delete Master and Standard operator passcodes
Note: There must be at least one Master Operator in the Information Display system. The initial Master Operator acquires the access code through Cat® Electronic Technician (ET). Master Operators can add other Master Operators. However, the Master Operator cannot delete their own identification profile.

Note: The operating procedure Factory Default profile page is similar to the operating procedures of the Custom Profile Page, which are created by the operator.
- The Select Profile page contains a predetermined list of settings for the profile. Review the intended settings by pressing either the Up Arrow button (9) or the Down Arrow button (10). The Menu Sliding Indicator of the Scroll Bar (8) will move along with the page.
- Press the Ok button (11) to load and apply the settings to the machine.
- Press the Back button (3) to return to the previous page.
- Press the Home button (4) to return to the Home page (Performance Page 1)
Note: Profile settings are loaded and applied one time when commanded through the Profiles page. If the operator chooses to adjust any of the Custom Profiles settings outside of that particular Custom Profiles page, the original Profile settings will be lost. The operator can return to that particular Custom Profiles page to reload the desired profile.

The Change Operator page allows changing the operator of the machine from one person to another. The Message window (2), identifies the current operator of the machine.
The Change operator page has 2 different selections, depending on how the operator has been entered into the system by the Master Operator:
- Digital Passcode
- Hexadecimal Key Code
The Hexadecimal Key Code is used when the display picks up a Bluetooth® signal, if one is installed. For more information, refer to the following section in this manual: Manage Operator
Note: The Search for Key Button will only be visible if Bluetooth® is installed.
- Enter the passcode of the replacement operator by pressing the intended number buttons on the Numerical Keypad. The numeric passcode cannot exceed 7 digits, including leading zeroes.
- Correct a mistyped number by pressing the Backspace button (4), then reenter the correct number.
- Press the OK button (5) to enter the passcode.

Search for Key button and Choose Key Type
The Hexadecimal Key Code is used when the display detects a Bluetooth® signal, if one is installed. For more information, refer to the following section in this manual: Manage Operator

- If the operator is set up with a hexadecimal key code, the code can be located by pressing the Search for Key button (8). The Choose Key Type page will appear.

- There are 2 buttons in the Choose Key Type page:

Pressing the Passcode button (10) will allow the operator to key in a numerical passcode by using a numerical keypad.
Pressing the Bluetooth® button (9) will allow the operator to search for their access code by locating a Bluetooth® hexadecimal signal.
- Press the OK button (5) to set the selection and return to the previous page.
- Press the Search for Key button (8) and allow the display to search for the correct key. The Detecting New Key… page will appear. This page will remain until a new key has been detected.
Note: Pressing the Search for Key button (8) does not log out the current operator.
Note: Changing the operator will load the machine settings and the display settings that are tied to that particular Operator Identification.

On the Manage Operators menu page, corresponding key type icons are visible with the Operators name. For example, Operator 1 (6) uses a numerical keypad to enter in the passcode, as indicated by the keypad icon on the menu button. Operator 2 (5) keys into the system by using a Bluetooth® connection, as the menu button icon shows.

The information found on the right-hand side of the button columns indicates the current Setting status of that particular button.
- Press the Key Type button (9). The Choose Key Type page will appear.
- If the master operator wants to create a setting where an operators code is entered manually into a numerical keypad, the master operator would press the Passcode button (11). If the master operator wants to create a setting where the operators code can be located by Bluetooth®, then the master operator presses the Bluetooth® button (10).
Pressing the Passcode key button (11) will allow the operator to key in a numerical passcode by using a numerical keypad.
Pressing the Bluetooth® key button (10) will allow the operator to search for their access code by locating a Bluetooth® hexadecimal signal.
- Press the intended menu button on the Add Operator button page, refer to Illustration 48. A white mark will be displayed in the selected button.
- Press the OK button (3) to set the selection and return to the previous page.
- Press the Home button (5) to return to the Performance Page (Home page).

Creating Multiple Master Operators
Only a Master Operator can add or delete other Master Operators and all Standard operators.

- If the Master Operator wants to create another Master Operator. Press the Master button (11).
- A check mark will appear in the Master button.
- Press the OK button (3) to enter the selection.
- The Enter New Name the alphanumeric keypad will appear. Refer to illustration 54.

Note: The name cannot be longer than 11 characters.
- Enter a new operators name by typing in the name with the alphanumeric keypad (3). The Letter Case Change button (1) is used to toggle between capital letters and lower case letters.
- Correct a mistyped letter by pressing the Backspace button (4), then reenter the correct letter.
- Press the OK button (5) to set the name.
- Press the Back button (6) to return to the previous page.
- Press the Home button (7) to return to the Performance Page (Home page).
If the Passcode setting has been selected on the Choose Key Type page, proceed to the following step:
- Enter a New Passcode (Numerical Keypad)
If the Bluetooth® setting has been selected on the Choose Key Type page, proceed to the following step:
- Enter a New Key Code (Hexadecimal Keypad)

This section is for master operators who want to set up a new operator with a numerical passcode.

If the passcode has been entered successfully, a message will appear in the Message Banner indicating that the operator has been successfully added (“Add Operator Successful”). Refer to Add Operator Successful section in this manual. If the passcode has not been entered successfully, a message will appear in the Message Banner. The message indicates that the operator has been successfully added (“Add Operator Failed - Maximum (Max) Reached”). Refer to Add Operator Failed or Maximum (Max) Reached section in this manual.
The Operator ID of the current operator can be viewed in the Message Window. The Operator Icon in the Message Window can be shown in 3 ways. Refer to Illustration 31.

- Enter the key code by using the buttons on the hexadecimal keypad. The passcode cannot exceed 12 characters.
- Correct a mistyped character by pressing the Backspace button (4), then reenter the correct character.
- Press the OK button (5) to enter the number. The display will indicate that the new key is being detected. Refer to Illustration 37.

If the key code was entered successfully, a message appears in the Message Banner (2) indicating that the operator has been successfully added (“Add Operator Successful”).
Note: If there are more than 5 operators added, a Scroll Bar with a Sliding Indicator will appear. The operator can press the Down Arrow button (3) to begin scrolling. Once the scrolling begins, the Up Arrow button will appear.
- Press the OK button (11) to set the data.

If the new operator has been successfully entered, the new operators information will appear in the operators menu button group.
The status for each button can vary. The following is an example of the types of status that each button may have at a particular time:
- Key Type button can be either Passcode or Bluetooth status
- Access Level can be either Standard or Master
The Description button will display the information of the name entered in for that specific operator. The Key Code button will display asterisks, not the actual key code that has been entered.
The newly created operator appears on the manage operators menu page.

If the passcode has not been entered successfully, a message will appear in the Lower Information Banner. The message will indicate that the new operator could not be added. The message will state: Add Operator Failed or Max Reached. Failure is possible if the following occurs:
- The passcode or key code already exists
- The maximum limit of 25 total operators has been reached
- Press the Back button (4) to return to the Application Profile page.
- Press the Home button (5) to return to the Performance Page (Home page).

- Press the intended button to be deleted for example, press Operator 3 (10). The Operator Information page for Operator 3 will appear.
