Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Onboard configuration files retrieved from SIS web cannot be loaded to the Network Managers. New configuration files created under the single configuration file strategy that includes capital letters in the file extension (for example, 9999999-99.CFG), will be rejected by the PLE601. Currently this issue is limited to the PLE601 devices operating with 2018.2 firmware. Configuration files used for PLE602, or PLE702 network managers are not affected.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been defined. As an interim action, users having access to the file prior to upload can rename the file by using lowercase letters in the file extension. Save the file locally and then use that file to upload the configuration.
