Problem
When dealers subscribe to assets in VisionLink right after making ownership changes may fail, because of mismatches in information. When user changes owner information in Equipment Data (ED), Dealer Service Portal (DSP) is remaining out of synchronization for some time. DSP then allows user to subscribe VisionLink services to the asset using incorrect owner details. This is due to an error in the development of code between the back-office databases.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been defined. A team is actively working on this issue to find resolution. As an interim action, dealers can make changes to Equipment Data records as normal, but then allow 10-15 minutes to pass before trying to subscribe the machine to VisionLink.
