Turbocharger - Remove and Install - Second Stage Turbocharger

Usage:

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove cable straps (3) and disconnect harness connector (4). Remove V-band clamp (2) and elbow exhaust (1).

  2. Remove three V-band clamps (5), duct (7), and bellows (9).

  3. Remove V-band clamp (6), clamp (10), and tube assembly (8).

  4. Remove bolts (11) and bolt with o-rings (15). Remove lines group turbocharger (13).

  5. Remove two bolts (12) and bolts (16). Remove line assembly (14).

  6. Remove four bolts (18) and second stage turbocharger (17).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install second stage turbocharger (17) in reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nuts (18) to a torque of 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

    2. Tighten bolts (11), (12), and (16) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).

    3. Tighten banjo bolt (15) to a torque of 33 N·m (292 lb in).

    4. Tighten V-band clamps (5) and (6) to a torque of 12 N·m (106 lb in).

    5. Tighten clamp (10) to a torque of 6 N·m (53 lb in).
