Problem

(1) 356-1286 Arm and Bearing As

The lift arm assembly (1) may crack where the torque tube meets the lift arms.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of the problem but an interim solution has not yet been defined.

In order to repair a cracked lift arm assembly (1) refer to Special Instruction, RENR8594, "Load Haul Dump Machines. Machining & Welding Information."

Additional information is needed to resolve this issue. If you have experienced problems of weld cracks on the 356-1286 Arm and Bearing As , follow the instruction below.
