The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

F2 series Backhoe Loaders equipped with a C3.4 engine do not have an SOS Port for obtaining engine oil samples. Due to the size and shape of the dipstick tube, an engine oil sample is not possible through the tube.

Location to install 8C-3345 Fluid Sampling Valve As (A) Engine Oil Filter

An 8C-3345 Fluid Sampling Valve As can be installed to obtain the engine oil sample. Refer to Illustration 1.

Note: During installation of the sampling valve, apply Loctite 572 to the threads of the valve.
