Start By:

  1. Remove the piston pump (fan).

  1. Be sure that the outside of the piston pump is thoroughly clean prior to disassembly.

  2. Remove cap (1) and cartridge (2).

  3. Remove screws (4) and pump control valve (3).

  4. Remove plug (5), spring (7), guide (8), and spool (9) from compensator valve (3). Remove O-ring seal (6) from plug (5). Remove plug (13), spool (16), guide (17), spring (18) and guide (19), from compensator valve (3). Remove O-ring seal (14) and seal (15) from plug (13). Remove plug (11) from compensator valve (3). Remove seal (10), cap (20), and nut (12) from plug (11).

  5. Remove bolts (6) and head (5).

  6. Remove O-ring seal (7), port plate (9), and bearing cup (8).

  7. Remove bearing cone (10), shim (11), and O-ring seal (12).

  8. Remove rotating group (14) from housing (13).

    Note: Mark the location of pistons for assembly purposes.

  9. Remove plate (16) and pistons (15) from barrel (17). Remove retaining ball (18).

  10. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to compress spring (20). Remove retaining ring (19), spring (20), and retaining disc (21) from barrel (17).

  11. Remove pressure pins (22) from barrel (17).

  12. Remove plug (22) and the O-ring seal.

  13. Remove piston (23).

  14. Remove swashplate (24) and spring (25).

  15. Remove shaft assembly (27). Remove screws (28) and bearings (26).

  16. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing cone (30) from shaft (29).

  17. Remove plug (31) and the O-ring seal.

    Note: Damage may occur to ring (34) upon removal of lip seal (33).

  18. Remove retaining ring (32). Use Tooling (A) to remove lip seal (33).

  19. Remove bearing cup (35) and ring (34) from housing (13).
