PROBLEM
Certain 20R-0951 Water Pumps were incorrectly seeded with 352-0205 Water Pumps (35 tooth gear). They should have been seeded with 376-4216 Water Pumps (34 tooth gear). 352-0205 and 376-4216 Water Pumps are identical except for the number of teeth on the gear. Installing a water pump with a 35 gear teeth could lead to a very tight gear mesh and irregular gear wear. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 20R-0951 Reman Water Pumps in dealer parts stock. Review the packaging date code on each 20R-0951. If the packaging date code is on or after September 1, 2015 mark the package to indicate the product has been inspected and return to dealer part stock. If the packaging date code is before September 1, 2015 inspect the water pump inside the package as described below. Gear Inspection: If the water pump has a 34 tooth gear (361-5610 Gear), then mark the package to indicate that the water pump has been inspected according to this program and return the water pump to dealer parts stock. If the water pump has a 35 tooth gear (292-1200 Gear) the Reman pump was seeded with an incorrect 352-0205 Water Pump. Remove the water pump from dealer parts stock. Refer to the Service Claim Allowances and Parts Disposition. |
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all water pumps removed from dealer parts stock. Include the package date code (e.g. D01M02Y13) in the claim story for each water pump removed from dealer parts stock. |
PARTS DISPOSITION
NACD: Hold all 20R-0951 Reman Water Pumps removed from dealer parts stock for a Parts Return Request (PRR). A Parts Return Request (PRR) will be issued to you through the Send-It-Back process after the claim is submitted. Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork. EAME, LACD, and APD: Hold all 20R-0951 Reman Water Pumps removed from dealer parts stock for 30 days for a possible Parts Return Request (PRR). Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork. If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back process, handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
