When reporting the repair, use "PI32586" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32586" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The coolant pressure sensor and isolation valve need to be replaced on certain C32 Marine Engines. The existing sensor is undersized and will not display the high pressure range. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Step 1: If required drain and collect coolant in suitable storage containers for later use, refer to the procedure "Drain the Coolant Systems" in the C32 Marine Engine Operation and Maintenance Manual. Step 2: Remove the existing 183-4760 Coolant Pressure Sensor and 437-8957 Coolant Pressure Isolation Valve from the 380-1089 Sensor Gp installed in the 249-9383 Bonnet at the location shown Image 1. Step 3: Install the new 489-5173 Coolant Pressure Isolation Valve, 216-8579 Seal, and 416-6999 Sensor into the 249-9383 Bonnet. Step 4: The existing harness connection will have to be fitted with 281-8804 Plug and two 283-0056 Adapters in order to connect to the new 416-6999 Sensor. The wires should be installed in the plug as follows: G828-JC3 WH-18-GXL, 993-JC4 BR-18-GXL, N763-JC5 PU-18-GXL as pins 1, 2, and 3 respectively shown in Image 2. Step 5: If the coolant was previously drained, refill cooling system with collected coolant, refer to the procedure "Fill the Cooling System" in the C32 Marine Engine Operation and Maintenance Manual. Step 6: Connect to the engine ECM with Cat ET and flash with the latest engine software. Refer to SIS Web for latest engine flash file. |

Travel will only be authorized for one engine for multiple engines being reworked in a boat. Please reference the other engine serial numbers in the claim story. An additional 2.0 hours is allowed to drain and fill the cooling system if required. |
