IQAN module

(1) Yellow or Red Status LED

(2) Green Power LED

There are two indicators on the IQAN XA2 module. The green power LED (2) indicates that the module has power. The yellow or red status LED (1) indicates the status of the module. The status LED is flashing yellow the module detects normal status. The status LED is flashing red the module detects an error. The module detects an error the nature of the flashing LED gives an idea of the type of error that exists.

LED Diagnosis

(1) Flashing yellow light indicates normal (No Errors).

(2) Flashing red light indicates an error that is controlled by the master.

(3) Flashing red light indicates an error code that is controlled by the master.

(4) Three red flashes and one yellow flash indicates a CAN Error. Three red flashes and two yellow flashes indicates an address error.

(5) Flashing red light indicates a FRAM memory error.

(6) Flashing red light indicates a fatal error.

When an error is detected by one of the modules, an error message automatically appears on the IQAN Master Display (MD3). The IQAN MD3 module will also display conditional messages that alert the operator to important machine conditions.

Note: The internal diagnostics in the IQAN MD3 can be used to get more information about the XA2 module.

Example of a conditional message

(1) Type of conditional message

(2) The message is associated with this component.

(3) The message is associated with this module.

(4) Message text

(5) The message is associated with this pin on the module.

The color of the header in the box indicates the severity of the error. Boxes with a red header indicate that the error requires immediate attention. These errors are most severe. Boxes with an orange header indicate moderately severe errors that may require immediate attention. Boxes with a blue header indicate less severe errors. These boxes provide information to the operator and/or display errors that require attention at the earliest convenient time.

The user must acknowledge all errors with the F2 key. If multiple errors are present, each error must be dismissed with the F2 key.

The following error messages may appear on the display:

Illustration 4g02665817

Propel Pedal Error Sensor out of Calibration. Red Header Box. This error indicates that the two input signals from a propulsion sensor are not in sync.

Illustration 5g02665818

Propel Pedal Error Both Pedals Activated. Red Header Box. This error occurs when the system has detected simultaneous input signals from the forward propulsion sensor and from the reverse propulsion sensor.

Engine warning example

The MD3 module also displays engine error codes. The message box for engine errors also describes the error. Engine errors show the Suspect Parameter Number (SPN) and the Failure Mode Indicator (FMI) for the error. The SPN is a J1939 number that identifies the specific component of the electronic control system that has experienced a diagnostic code. The FMI indicates the type of failure that is associated with the component. The engine troubleshooting manual contains a description of each error code along with troubleshooting procedures. Some of the engine warnings are listed in 1.
