This instruction will outline the installation of heated front glass for the machines that are listed above. The heated glass for the front window draws approximately five amps of power from the electrical system. The 5 amps can be supplied from a standard machine with an 80 amp alternator or from a machine with the 150 amp attachment alternator.
Note: If the heated right-hand door is also installed, the machine must have the 150 amp alternator due to the combined current requirements. The heated glass draws 5 amps, and the heated door requires 30 amps.

When a hoist is used to lift any part or assembly, stand clear of the area under the part being raised. Always make sure that the hoist has adequate lifting capacity and the wire cable is not damaged. Failure to follow this instruction could lead to injury or death. Approximate weights of the components are shown in the table which follows. |

Rework Procedure
- Begin by removing the front window wiper group. Retain hardware, as the parts will be reinstalled later.
- Remove the existing front glass. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9824, "Replacing Bonded Windows".

Illustration 1 g02666976 Applying the new seal (2) - Place the new front glass (5) or (6) on a flat surface with the power terminals facing up. The power terminals are located on what will be the top of the window. Starting at the bottom of the window, apply the new seal (2) around the perimeter of the glass. Refer to Illustration 1.

Illustration 2 g02667000 Cutting the seal to length - Cut the seal to the proper length. Make sure that the seam where the seal ends meet is at the bottom of the window. Refer to Illustration 2.

(4) Bracket - Apply RTV Adhesive Sealant (10) on the narrow section of the new brackets (4) to hold the new seals (3) in place as shown in Illustration 3.

(9) Screw - Install one of the new brackets (4) to the top of the cab. Use three new screws (9) and three new washers (1). Refer to Illustration 4.

Illustration 5 g02667219 (7) Harness - Install the new wire harness (7) to the terminals on the window. The position of the terminals on the wire harness does not matter. Refer to Illustration 5. Use RTV Adhesive Sealant (10) around the terminals at the glass as needed to provide additional strength and insulation from moisture. Support the terminals at the glass until install to prevent breakage.

(9) Screw - With the harness inside the cab, slide the top of the glass into the top bracket. Install the new bracket (4) to the bottom of the glass. Use three new screws (9) and three new washers (1). Refer to Illustration 6.

Illustration 7 g02667337 (7) Harness - Finish by bundling the new harness (7) with the existing cab harness. Use a new cable strap (8) to tie the new harness (7) to the existing cab harness. Refer to Illustration 7.
