Description of Change: The new software flash files are now used in Engine, Chassis, Advisor and Messenger modules on the models that are listed above. A new feature, Engine Idle Shutdown (EIS) is included in the latest software that is available for certain Off-Highway Trucks. The new software versions MUST be loaded into the Engine, Chassis and Advisor/Messenger modules for the EIS feature to function.

The new feature will turn off the trucks engine automatically after a predetermined amount of time, once all of the necessary parameters have been met. This feature can be configured using Cat ET or through Advisor.

Note: Dealers are also required to install a 352-9153 Film on the dash. The film will make the operator aware that the truck is equipped with this EIS feature. Refer to Illustration 1 for installing a EIS film on the dash board.

Adaptable To: The new software flash files for Engine, Chassis, Advisor and Messenger modules are adaptable to the serial numbers and effective in production with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 1.
