Shims are Now Used in the Torque Converter and Updrive {3101, 3159}

Usage:

R1600 9EW
Load Haul Dump:
R1600 (S/N: 9XP1-UP; 9EW1-UP)
R1600G (S/N: 9PP1-UP; 9YZ1-UP)

Description of Change: Shims are now used in the torque converter and updrive. The shims are used in order to correctly adjust the pump drive gear bearings. Correct adjustment of the pump drive gear bearings improves the service life of the bearings.

Adaptable To: The 165-9591 Shim, 165-9592 Shim and 165-9593 Shim are effective with R1600G 9YZ546-UP.

The 165-9591 Shim, 165-9592 Shim and 165-9593 Shim are adaptable to machines listed in Table 1.

Use the following procedure to adjust the pump drive gear bearings during assembly of the torque converter and updrive assembly.
