Site Map (Name.svl, Site.dxf or Name.bg.dxf)
This file is stored in the root directory of the data card. If this file is present, this file is always loaded. The site map provides a framework of the entire site. The map also contains linework that is always visible. When a design is loaded, the design is placed in conjunction with the site. You can also choose to use the lines that are displayed in this file for horizontal guidance of the machine.
The site map can be in two different formats. The file can be in the "SV Linework" format (*.svl) or the file can be in a valid "Drawing Interchange Format" (*.dxf) format. The *.svl format is a proprietary format that is produced by the AccuGrade Office software.
Assign the appropriate name to the file. The appropriate names are listed below:
- *.svl
- Site.dxf
- *.bg.dxf
The site map is loaded when you power up the system. There should only be one file for the site map in the root directory. The software will perform a search. The software will load the first *.svl file that is found.
If a *.svl is not present, the software searches the root directory for a Site.dxf file. The software will load the first file that is found.
If the software does not find a Site.dxf file, then the software will search the root directory for a background file(*.bg.dxf). The software will load the first file that is found.
Note: When possible, use the *.svl format. This type of file will be transferred to the data card within a few seconds. The transfer of other types of files could take several minutes.
Note: AccuGrade Office should be used in order to create a data card with a site file. This will ensure that the file is placed in the correct location on the card.
Avoidance Zone files provide information about general areas on the site that must be avoided. One or more *.avoid.dxf or *. avoid.svl files may be stored in the root directory of the data card. Avoidance Zone files must be in a valid *.dxf or *.svl format. All *.dxf and *.svl Avoidance Zone files that are in the root directory are loaded.
Map Recording files contain data for coverage mapping. Different types of coverage are recorded into different *.cat files. The files can be identified by the type of coverage that is included in the name of the file.
The following are types of Map recording coverage.
- Coverage
- Terrain
- Radio coverage
Program Log (ProgramLog.txt and ProgramLog.old)
The AccuGrade System automatically creates one or more program log files in the root directory of the compact flash card. Each file is uniquely named and includes the Machine Name that has been assigned and the date. The format for the file name is as follows:
Log_<Machine Name>yyyymmdd.txt
When the program log file reaches 1 MB in size, the file is copied to a new file. This file is called Log_<Machine Name>yyyymmdd.old. If there is already an old program log file in the root folder, then the program will overwrite this file. The data in the older file is lost.
Note: Always leave 1MB of free storage on the data card so that the system can create these two log files.
If a problem occurs with the AccuGrade System, these files must be mailed to your support person for analysis.
Display Settings file (Display**.DSP)
This file contains the following types of information:
- Information about the guidance method
- Information about the configuration of the machine
- Customized Display configuration for specific operators
Note: When the Display Settings file is restored, the settings for the GPS receiver and the setting to adjust the brightness of the Display are not changed.
The System uses the file for the following settings:
- Drum Focus
- Beeper
- Cross Section View
- Design Information (but not restored)
- Horizontal Offset
- Map Recording
- On-Grade Tolerance
- Operator Configuration
- Profile View
- Text Views
- Training Mode
- Units
- Vertical Offset
The default name for the Display Settings file is "Display**.DSP". The "**" characters represent a sequential number that starts at 01. The system creates the sequential number in order to distinguish between the different Display Settings files. The Display Settings file can be used on all machine types. The Display Settings file may be assigned a unique name by using the arrow keys in order to enter text.
Note: The configuration of the Display can be set up for different operators. The Display can also be set up for different sites. An example is the roads on a site versus the jobs on a site. Keep the appropriate configuration file for your machine in the root directory of the data card.
This file is used for configuring the AccuGrade System for a specific machine. This would be necessary if the Display is being shared with several machines.
Note: If the machine settings are restored, ensure that the settings that are being restored are the correct settings for the machine.
Note: When the machine settings are restored, the settings for the GPS receiver and the setting to adjust the brightness of the Display are not changed.
The Machine Settings file includes information about the following settings:
- Machine type
- Machine dimensions
- Sensors that are installed on the machine
When the AccuGrade System creates the "Machine Settings" (MCH) file, the System places the file in the root directory of the data card. The System uses the MCH file in order to save and to restore the following settings:
The MCH File contains the following items:
- Avoidance Zones
- Drum Wear
- FTP Support
- GPS Accuracy
- GPS Port
- CD700 Radio Port
- GPS Receiver Configuration
- Machine Dimensions
- Vertical Guidance
The default name for a compactor is "COMPACTOR**.MCH"." The **" characters represent a sequential number that starts at "01". The system creates the sequential number in order to distinguish between different Machine Settings files.
Note: Keep the appropriate display configuration for your machine in the root directory of the data card.
GPS Receiver Configuration (*.cfg)
The "GPS Receiver Configuration" file (*.cfg) contains the site coordinate system and the GPS Calibration parameters. Store the *.cfg file in the design folder. The file is automatically loaded with the design. The *.cfg files that are in the root directory must be manually loaded.
Note: Use AccuGrade Office in order to create a data card with a *.cfg file. This will ensure that the file is placed in the correct location on the card.
Production Data (*.Production-Data) Files
When Production Reporting is enabled, the production data files (*.tag) are stored on the data card. A folder under *.Production-Data is created each day with the name Display Serial Number -- Machine Name -- Date. The date format is yymmdd. Under this folder, *.tag files are written every five minutes.
If the Wireless option is enabled and the appropriate infrastructure is in place, then the production data files are wirelessly sent to the office.
Note: If the data files are not removed from the card on a periodic basis, then the card may reach full capacity. The field data may be lost if the card reaches capacity. Caterpillar recommends that the data card be downloaded to the AccuGrade Office software at least once per week in order to prevent the loss of data.
Archived Production Data (*.Production-Archive) Files
A folder is created each day under the *.Production-Archive directory, using the same naming convention as *.Production-Data. Each folder is named Display Serial Number -- Machine Name -- Date, where the date is in the format yymmdd. If the machine does not have an assigned name, then the AS400 serial number is used.
Any files that are sent wirelessly from the*.Production-Data directory to the office are copied and saved in a folder of the same name under *.Production-Archive.
Note: If the data files are not removed from the card on a periodic basis, then the card may reach full capacity. The field data may be lost if the card reaches capacity. Caterpillar recommends that the data card be downloaded to the AccuGrade Office software at least once per week in order to prevent the loss of data.
The following files may be in the root directory. These files are used in order to upgrade the firmware for the device.
- Upgrade Firmware for the Display
- Upgrade Firmware for the GPS Receiver
Refer to Systems Operation, "Firmware Upgrade" for additional information.
Display Upgrade: AccuGrade GPS v11.sg2
When you upgrade the firmware on the Display, copy the new *.sg2 file to the root directory of the data card. The file is in the following format:
- AccuGrade GPS v11.sg2
Note: Do not leave these files on the data card after use. If the files remain on the data card, the AccuGrade System will prompt you to upgrade the Display firmware. The message appears each time the System is started.
The Display is used to perform an upgrade of the selected devices on the CAN bus. The devices include the GPS receiver and the slope sensor.
Note: The TC900C or TC450C radios must be upgraded using MCGFlash. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS2585, "MCGFlash v3.1 User Guide".
The file for the software support option may be in the root directory. This file is loaded into the Display in order to enable the license support agreement.
