Procedure for the Separation of the Wiring Harness {1451}

Usage:

797 5YW
Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
797 (S/N: 5YW1-UP)
797B (S/N: JSM1-UP)

This procedure describes the separation of the wiring harness between the rear engine and the torque converter. This will allow independent replacement of either the wiring harness for the engine or for the torque converter.

Refer to the following steps in order to adapt the wiring harness.

  1. Cut the 258-4952 Harness after the breakout for the engine speed sensor.

    Pin locations on the connector

  1. Assemble the connector for the portion of the wiring harness for the torque converter. Use the following parts:

    Table 1 indicates the pin number that corresponds with each wire.

  1. Assemble the connector for the engine portion of the wiring harness. Use the following parts:

    Table 1 indicates the pin number that corresponds with each wire.

  1. Connect the plug to the receptacle.
