Muffler - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

  1. Remove guards (1) and (2) from the turbocharger and the muffler.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the muffler. Disconnect clamp (5) .

  1. Remove mounting bolts (3). The mounting bolts are located on the rear of muffler (4) .

  1. Remove muffler (4). The weight of muffler (4) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to muffler (4). Install muffler (4) into position. The weight of muffler (4) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to mounting bolts (3). Install mounting bolts (3). The mounting bolts are located on the rear of muffler (4) .

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to clamp (5). Connect clamp (5) .

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to the bolts. Install guards (1) and (2) onto the turbocharger and the muffler.
