Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Install
Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Install pushrods (5) .
Note: Ensure that the pushrods are installed in the original location and that the pushrods are seated in the valve lifters correctly.

- Loosen the nut and adjustment screw (1) on each rocker arm to prevent bending a valve or a pushrod during the installation.

- Position rocker shaft assembly (3) .
- Install bolts (2) and tighten to a torque of 10 to 20 N·m (89 to 177 lb in).
- Install bolts (4) and tighten to a torque of 10 to 20 N·m (89 to 177 lb in).
- Final torque for the nut on adjustment screw (1) is 20 N·m (177 lb in)
- Adjust the inlet valve lash and the exhaust valve lash to 0.250 mm (0.0098 inch). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust".
End By: Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
