NOTICE Ensure that the quick-connects are free from dirt. Failure to keep the quick-connects clean could result in damage to hydraulic system components.
- Always connect the case drain hydraulic line first.
- Connect the auxiliary hydraulic lines and the high flow hydraulic lines to the host machine.
- Twist the collars of the quick connect couplers for one quarter of a turn in order to secure the hydraulic connections.
- Connect the electrical harness to the electrical connector on the host machine.

- While the loader arms are fully lowered, visually inspect the quick coupler in order to ensure that the coupler pins (4) are fully extended through the corresponding holes (4A) of the frame mounting bracket. Verify that the coupler pins (4) are engaged before you operate the host machine with the work tool.
- Use the following procedure to verify engagement of the coupler pins.
- Enter the machine.
- Close the cab door.
- Fasten the seat belt.
- Lower the armrest, if equipped.
- Start the engine.
- Disengage the parking brake.
- Keep the work tool close to the ground.
- Activate the tilt control in order to tilt the work tool downward.
- Apply downward pressure on the work tool.
- Move the machine backward. Ensure that there is no movement between the work tool and the quick coupler assembly.
- Test the cold planer for proper operation.
- Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.
- Exit the machine.
- Inspect the cold planer and the auxiliary hydraulic lines for leaks. Inspect the cold planer for wear, for damage and for proper adjustment. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Bit - Inspect/Replace" for additional information.
Disengaging the coupler pins will release the work tool from control of the operator. Serious injury or death may result from disengaging the work tool when the work tool is in an unstable position or carrying a load. Place the work tool in a stable position before disengaging the coupler pins. |
NOTICE |
---|
Auxiliary hoses for work tools must be disconnected before the Hydraulic Quick Coupler is disengaged. Pulling the work tool with the auxiliary hoses could result in damage to the host machine or the work tool. |
- Enter the host machine.
- Fasten the seat belt.
- Lower the armrest, if equipped.
- Start the engine.
- Disengage the parking brake.
- Raise the work tool in the transport position. Move the host machine to the desired location for disconnecting the work tool. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transportation" for additional information on transporting the work tool.
- Position the host machine on a level surface.
