The major components within the turbocharger, specifically the compressor and turbine wheels, have a finite life depending on the application and type of service. It is important to maintain an accurate history of the service and hours on the turbocharger in order to minimize unscheduled repairs or downtime. Typically, the compressor and turbine life is at least 50,000 hours. If your turbocharger is approaching or has exceeded 50,000 service hours, contact your dealer with the following information:
-
- * Engine service hours
- * Turbocharger service hours
- * Specific engine application, including typical load profile
- * Turbocharger maintenance history
- * Engine service hours
With this information, your dealer can work with an ABB Service Center to accurately track the life of major turbocharger components.
