Description of Change: A new piston assembly is used in these engines. The new piston assembly includes two changes when compared to the former design. The chrome plating on the outer abutment of the crown has been removed. The inclination of the third land of the skirt has been removed. See (A) in the illustration.

Adaptable To: The new 172-6772 Piston Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 121-7555, 121-4068, and 4P-0399 Piston Assemblies. The former piston assemblies have been canceled. The illustration and chart identify the serviceable parts of the 172-6772 Piston Assembly. The serviceable parts of the new and former piston assemblies should not be mixed.
